In this weekly 5Rhythms® moving meditation class we are supported to increase our awareness and to free ourselves to become more alive and awake to life. We explore how to find fluidity, take action, ride the waves of life chaos, experience lightness and ease, and pause and rest in stillness. When we learn from the different rhythms on the dance floor it tremendously affects how we can ride these rhythms off the dance floor. All are welcome to join in this moving exploration. Just come as you are. No experience in the 5Rhythms® or other dance needed.

Drop in anytime.

2. UNDERNEATH: A 5-Week 5Rhythms® Class Series Sundays 7-9pm: Apr 9-May 7

*Going underneath – to explore the amazing shadow aspect of each of the five rhythms*

Each of the five rhythms has a light and shadow side, both of which are amazing and beautiful – as they make up our humanity. By understanding what is underneath the essential rhythms – the light side – we can be more aware of when we encounter the shadows of resistance (flow), tension (staccato), confusion (chaos), disconnection (lyrical) and numbness (stillness) in ourselves and others. With exploration and curiosity we can discover how these shadows move and influence us and have the opportunity to free our body, open our hearts, still our minds and to access our innate creativity.

In this 5-week committed class Sunday night series we will explore the shadow aspect of each of the five rhythms so we can be more fully present to our life. We will use the 5Rhythms as an ‘everyday’ practice, not just as a dance, but to increase our awareness and help create freedom and choice, embodiment and presence.

This is a closed group that consists of five consecutive Sunday night sessions. It is for people who are looking to understand each of the shadow aspects of the five rhythms and how this conscious dance practice and knowledge of the shadow of each rhythm can be used to understand what we do off the dance floor. This series will give you the opportunity to connect with the same small group of people each week and build connections, inspiration and a sense of community.

This workshop is open to anyone and any body (any size, shape, fitness level, age). No previous movement, 5Rhythms or other, experience is needed. All that is required is a sense of curiosity, openness, and willingness to move.

Anne Marie Hogya is an accredited 5RTA teacher and this 5 week class series will qualify as 10 Wave hours on the 5Rhythms teacher training path.
