In a world that often feels uncertain, the call to be brave is everywhere.
Bravery and fear live close together. When we meet what lies beneath our fears with awareness, movement, and support, something powerful begins to emerge.
In this 5Rhythms® Waves and Heartbeat dance workshop, we will explore the physical and emotional landscape of bravery. Through movement, we will discover how courage is not the absence of fear, but our willingness to stay present in its midst. Embodiment practices, a wooden sword ritual, and opportunities to speak up and be witnessed will support us in discovering our voice, our strength, and our capacity to meet life with greater courage.
Together, we will expand our capacity for bravery, exploring how the body can guide us through fear and into greater clarity, confidence, and authentic power. When we brave together, we rise together.
This workshop welcomes anyone who identifies as female, trans, or gender non-conforming. It is intended as a dedicated space for these communities and is not open to cisgender men.
No previous experience is required - only a willingness to move, explore, and be curious.
Bettina Rothe and Anne Marie Hogya met in 2000 during a month-long immersion with 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth in California. What began as a shared love for this transformative movement practice grew into a lifelong friendship and creative collaboration. Trained by Gabrielle Roth and senior 5Rhythms faculty, Bettina and Anne Marie have spent decades teaching throughout North America, Europe, and beyond. Together, they are passionate about cultivating inclusive spaces and offering bravery as an embodied practice- supporting people to meet life with greater presence, authenticity, and heart.
*This retreat counts as 5 hours of Heartbeat and 10 hours of Waves pre-requisites on the 5Rhythms Teacher Training path.
